It’s been a long travel day. Not everything went as we planned, but we’re here on Martha’s Vineyard in our teeny, tiny room (seriously - this is comical) with our bellies full of clam chowder (gluten free!) and ice cream.
The traffic from Boston to the ferry was horrendous and caused us to miss our reservation. The next time we could book passage with our car would have been tomorrow at 3:45 - fifteen minutes before the meet and greet is to start. Nope. So we just parked on the mainland and took the ferry as passengers. This means that we’re on the island without a car. This isn’t horrible (we don’t have to deal with the parking nightmares), but it also requires some more careful planning.
I wanted to drive around the island and go to the different filming locations at our own pace. Now we need to either book a tour or get an Uber and pay out the nose for stop after stop. We may rent bikes tomorrow to go from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown, but I really didn’t bring “biking” clothes. Plus if we do that, I’ll want to come back to the hotel and shower before going to the meet and greet. I have a cute outfit planned!
So, yeah. I’m doing some late night research on bike rentals vs. public transit vs. Uber.
But . . . no complaints! This is an adventure! We’re on the island, we’re smelling the sea air and anticipating the celebration to come tomorrow!
Good night!
This might be a positive considering what I know of trying to navigate and park on MV. Id vote for the bikes.
